يُستخدم برو-غاست لعلاج ومنع تكرار قرحة المعدة والاثني عشر، حتى تلك التي تسببها جرثومة الملوية البوابية، حيث يُحسّن من فعالية المضادات الحيوية المُخصصة لعلاجها.

يعمل كمثبط نوعي لمضخة أيونات الهيدروجين في الخلايا الجدارية للمعدة، مما يُسبب تثبيطًا مؤقتًا لإفراز حمض المعدة.

كما يُستخدم أيضًا كعلاج وقائي لالتهاب المعدة، والتهاب المريء، وتهيج أو تآكل الغشاء المخاطي للمعدة والاثني عشر الناتج عن الأدوية، نظرًا لقدرته على تثبيط إفراز حمض المعدة بشكل مؤقت

Pro-gast is indicated for the treatment and prevention of recurrent gastro-duodenal ulcers, even those caused by Helicobacter pylori , as it optimizes the use of the specific antibiotics for its treatment.

It acts as a specific inhibitor of the hydrogen-ion pump in the gastric parietal cell, causing a reversible inhibition of the stomach acid secretion.

It is also used for the prophylactic treatment of gastritis, esophagitis and irritations or
