دالمارلين هو محلول مائي للحقن يحتوي على الليسيريلين، وهو نظير اصطناعي لهرمون الببتيد GnRH الذي يُفرز من منطقة ما تحت المهاد، والذي يحفز إفراز هرموني الغدد التناسلية LH وFSH من الفص الجبهي للغدة النخامية.

يختلف الليسيريلين عن الهرمونات الطبيعية في كونه ببتيدًا تساعيًا وليس عشاريًا، وذلك باستبدال الجليسين في الموضع العاشر بمجموعة إيثيل أمين شديدة الذوبان في الدهون. يزيد هذا التغيير في التركيب من ألفة الليسيريلين لمستقبلات محددة في الغدة النخامية، مما يؤدي إلى زيادة مستويات LH وFSH، بالإضافة إلى إطالة مدة تأثيرهما لأكثر من 240 دقيقة، على عكس 90 دقيقة للهرمون الطبيعي.

يُستخدم دالمارلين في حالات انخفاض الخصوبة الناتج عن عدم نضج الجريب أو تأخر نضجه، وفي حالات الإباضة الناتجة عن عدم كفاية إفراز هرموني FSH وLH من الغدة النخامية. يُحدث حقن الغونادوتروبينات تأثيرات خارجية لا يمكن التحكم بها فسيولوجيًا. في المقابل، يُحفز إعطاء دواء دالمارلين إفراز الغونادوتروبينات من الغدة النخامية، وهو إفراز يمكن للجسم التحكم به من خلال آليات التغذية الراجعة السلبية.

DALMARELIN is an injectable aqueous solution containing lecirelin, a synthetic analogue of the hypothalamic polypeptide hormone GnRH, which induces the release of the gonadotropin hormones LH and FSH from the frontal pituitary.
Lecirelin differs from natural hormones in that it is a nonapeptide and not a decapeptide by substitution of glycine in the tenth position with a highly lipophilic ethyl amine. This change in structure increases the affinity for specific pituitary receptors, resulting in an increase in LH and FSH levels, as well as a prolongation of their effects for a period greater than 240 minutes, unlike the 90 minutes of the natural hormone.
DALMARELIN is indicated in cases of low fertility due to immaturity or delayed maturity of the follicle and ovulation due to insufficient secretion of FSH and LH by the pituitary gland. The inoculation of gonadotropins determines exogenous effects that are not physiologically controllable. On the other hand, the administration of DALMARELIN determines the secretion of pituitary gonadotropins that is controllable by the body through negative feedback mechanisms.
